(1) On page 72 of the Geuss text it is written: "The “original position” is obviously not at all a very good model for political deliberation or action, among other reasons because there is no discussion and no καιρός in it. " is is not, as it were, a feature Rawls has overlooked, but it is part of his intention because the “original position” was supposed to be disjoined from real politics, an ideal standpoint from which to survey the human world disinterestedly and impartially."

What is καιρός?

(2) Geuss argues that Rawls does not account for power, and this makes his theory "... deeply deficient... actively pernicious... mystifying." Is this criticism reasonable, and how could we respond to this criticism?
