In this course you will learn the foundations of integrated-circuit design with a special focus on open-source tools. Over the semester, you and your teammates will build a design that unlocks a door after authenticating a user via a smart card.
Your team's final design will represent the Ruhr University Bochum at the federal OCDCPro competition (https://ocdcpro.de), which includes an industrial-grade tape-out at the Leibniz-Institut für Innovative Mikroelektronik using its 130-nm process.
