Die Vorlesung Wireless Physical-Layer Security beschäftigt sich mit der Sicherheit funkender Geräte und vermittelt die Grundlagen und weitergehende Anwendungen drahtloser Kommunikation auf der physikalischen Schicht (ISO/OSI-Referenzmodell).
Funkverbindungen können neben klassischer Kommunikation auch als Sensoren eingesetzt werden. Dies eröffnet neue Sicherheitslösungen und innovative Anwendungen, Stichwort Integrated Communication and Sensing, wirft andererseits aber auch sicherheits- und datenschutzrelevante Fragestellungen auf.
Im Laufe der Veranstaltung werden verschiedene Themenbereiche davon behandelt - von Jamming und Radio-Frequency Fingerprinting über Secure Positioning und Channel-based Key Extraction bis hin zu Wireless Sensing. Die theoretischen Grundlagen werden im inverted-Classroom Format vermittelt. Vorlesungsvideos und gemeinsame Nachbesprechungen, sowie Übungen bereiten auf die Semesterbegleitenden Aufgaben vor, die die gelernten Inhalte praktisch mit eigener Soft- und Hardware vertiefen.
The lecture Wireless Physical-Layer Security deals with the security of wireless devices and teaches the basics and advanced applications of wireless communication at the physical layer (ISO/OSI reference model).
In addition to traditional communication, radio connections can also be used as sensors. This opens up new security solutions and innovative applications, keyword Integrated Communication and Sensing, but also raises security and data protection issues.
During the course, various topics will be covered, ranging from jamming and radio-frequency fingerprinting to secure positioning and channel-based key extraction to wireless sensing. The theoretical basics will be taught in an inverted classroom format. Lecture videos, joint debriefings, and exercises will prepare students for the project assignments, which will allow them to deepen their knowledge of the material learned in a practical way using their own software and hardware.
