The seminar strives to deepen the understanding of the concepts and political paradigms important for innovation systems and engage students in a discussion about the future of regions and innovation’s development. Students will gain insights into the theoretical foundations and their means for the region and its actors. Emphasis is placed on interactions, including cooperation between various actors and their role in shaping regional innovation processes. The question of economic versus inclusive growth in European regions is discussed as well as European, national and regional innovation policies in the context of EU multilevel governance.
The seminar is organised in four thematically structured blocks consisting of synchronous and asynchronous elements, divided into group and individual tasks. The work in the seminar is continuous throughout the semester.
