• "Learn More Audibly – Podcasts & Audioformats in Higher Education Teaching"

      37th round - 2026

Audio formats open up new didactic spaces in higher education: they make content audible, experiential and vivid. Whether through authentic speech recordings in foreign language teaching, narrates presentations, audio guides, or academic interviews, learning becomes interactive, personal and rich in perspective through listening.

Creating Podcasts also enables students to explore a contemporary form of science communication. They can conduct interviews, collect and analyze their own research data – and produce podcasts themselves, thereby experimenting with alternative assessment formats. In this way, new spaces emerge for reflection, collaboration, and skills development.

Our e-learning competition 5x5000 is currently looking for digital teaching and e-learning concepts that creatively unlock the potential of academic podcasts and audio formats:

      ·      for systematic integration into courses,

      ·      to promote pronunciation and listening comprehension,

      ·      to teach qualitative interview methods and their analysis,

      ·      to actively involve students in producing their own audio formats,

      ·      or as an innovative form of science communication

We are looking for projects that make teaching “audible”!

Do you have an innovative project idea for how podcasts or other audio formats can enrich learning and teaching in higher education? Then you've come to the right place! Let your creativity flow and submit your concept to our 5x5000 e-learning competition by 01.06.2026. Convince the student jury and win 5.000 euros for the implementation of your idea.

We look forward to your submission!

      Your 5x5000 team
