The aim of the lecture course is to give a survey of British post-war culture and its different
stages of post-modernisms – from the beginnings of the affluent society up to COVID-19. There will be no grand narratives, but fragmented bits and pieces shedding light on cultural phenomena such as magic realism and meta-historic novels, Beatlemania, James Bond and the Royal Family.
