The Checkpoints were some kind of a questionnaire, designed with H5P.
Checkpoint One
In this tool, the students documented and reflected on their group project and the work process. The guiding questions serve as a basis for the reflection on the
project. Using the questions as a guideline, they should describe how they assess their group's work process and their own role in the project and
what it has taught them. The ability to reflect
on the group process and one's own role was required.
Guiding questions:
- Did you feel listened to and were your ideas taken seriously?
- Are you satisfied with the concept? If not, what changes would you have liked to make?
- How did you handle disagreements? Did you face any challenges when developing the concept? (If yes, please describe)
- How was your time management?
The students should also note their next steps:
Guiding questions:
- Did you divide assignments/tasks? If yes, what are they? If not, why not?
- Did your group make a specific planning?
- How do you plan to maintain contact during the phases between the sessions?
Checkpoint Two
Describe the group's work process from your perspective. How was working
with the group up untill now? Did anything change in comparison to the
first checkpoint?
Guiding questions:
- How did your group divide the tasks and what was the role allocation
in regards to managing the tasks and the group (e.g. on a social level
(encouragement, integration, active participation etc.), on an
organisational level and in regards to the managing function)?
- How did you make decisions in your group?
- Are you satisfied with the overall collaboration up until now? If yes, why? If not, what change would you like to see?
- Did you face any conflicts, disruptions or difficulties in working
together and were you able to resolve them? If yes how? How could you
avoid / solve such difficulties in the future?
How would you assess your own role in your group?
Guiding questions:
- Were there aspects in the work process that you found difficult to contribute to?
- How did you manage to present your own ideas to the group? (If possible, shortly describe an example)
- Are you satisfied with your role and responsibilities in the group? If yes, why? If not, what change would you like to see?
Checkpoint Three
In retrospect: On your escape room
Guiding questions:
- Are you satisfied with your escape room? What worked out well and what aspects would need improvement?
- What would you have done differently or what would you have wished for, to create an even better escape room?
- Were the results of your project as expected? If no, why not?
- What did you find helpful during the design process (e.g.
conversations, exchanging aspects with the other groups, tutorials etc.)
- Would you say that the available technology and software fit the
building of the escape room well? Is there anything you'd like to see
differently next time?
In retrospect: On your group work
Guiding questions:
- In retrospect: What is your overall impression of the collaboration in
your group? What surprised you? What went good, what didn't go well?
- How balanced do you feel the efforts of the group members were?
- Did you face any conflicts, disruptions or difficulties in working
together since the last checkpoint and were you able to resolve them?
If yes how? How could you avoid / solve such difficulties in the future?
In retrospect: Self-reflection
Guiding questions:
- What strengths and weaknesses have you become aware of in relation to group work?
- Which overall tasks did you find easy to accomplish, which ones did you find difficult?
- Are you satisfied with your overall role in your group? How do you
think you did working with this group compared with groups you've worked
with in the past?
- If you had to collaborate again, what would you change about your behaviour in the group? What would you do the same?
