Do nations exist? What is a nation and what is nationalism? What is a nation-state? Are there different types of nationalisms?
The exercise (Übung) will provide a forum for students to engage with such questions and to discuss the phenomenon of nationalism(s) in its historical and contemporary dimensions, to become familiar with multiple perspectives from which nations and nationalisms can be approached and to get a grasp of what it means. .
