This block cour­se pro­vi­des an in­tro­duc­tion to the basic con­cepts and prin­ci­ples of sys­tem sa­fe­ty, in­clu­ding risk, ha­za­rd, ac­ci­dents, and failu­re, and tech­ni­ques for sa­fe­ty ana­ly­sis and as­sess­ment. It also pro­vi­des a brief over­view of re­la­ted ma­te­ri­al, such as legal is­su­es, ma­nage­ment of sa­fe­ty cri­ti­cal pro­jects, and human fac­tors.
