      THE NETIQUETTE

RULES FOR DEALING WITH EACH OTHER ON THE NET

The Internet is a place of encounter and communication and is therefore also ideally suited for the organization and support of teaching at universities. The digital exchange can take place in written form via forums, wikis, e-mails, blogs etc. or in online seminars with web meeting programs and video conferencing software. As in "analog life", there is a need for generally valid manners and communication rules online, which should be communicated to the students by the course management. The most important rules of this so-called "Netiquette", i.e. the etiquette on the Internet, we would like to present here.

      Tips for online meetings

Recommendations to make the Zoom conference a success

      Punctuality

Make sure you are on time so as not to miss anything. You may not be able to enter the Zoom room once the event has started.

      Camera

Please show yourselves if possible. This will result in better interaction and the person speaking will not have the feeling that they are talking into the void.

      Microphone

Switch off your microphone to avoid background and background noise and switch it back on when you are called or want to contribute something

      Chat behavior

The chat is intended for asking questions and commenting. Please maintain a friendly tone and stay on topic.

      General rules

Please take care of your fellow human beings: Personal recordings of the event are not permitted, even for private use, and verbal violence in writing and speech will not be tolerated.
