Die Pythia von Delphi, Alexanders Besuch am Orakel von Siwa, heilender Schlaf im Tempel von Asklepios, Vogelschau bei der Gründung Roms. Dieses Seminar widmet sich verschiedenen Arten von Kommunikation mit den Göttern in der griechisch-römischen Antike. Opfer, Orakel, Inkubationen und Gebete werden anhand von literarischen und archäologischen Zeugnissen diskutiert.
The Pythia of Delphi, Alexander the Great at the Oracle of Siwa, sleep as a remedy in Asclepios‘ temple, auspicium at the moment of Rome’s foundation. This course deals with different ways to communicate with the gods in Greco-Roman-Antiquity. Sacrifices, oracles, incubations and prayers are discussed on the basis of literary and archaeological testimonies.
