The Open Science November is organized by the Open Science working group. This group brings together stakeholders at Ruhr-University who are already working intensively on the topic of Open Science from different perspectives (Open Access, Open Data, Open Educational Resources and others) and offer information and advice on this topic.

Open Science

Open Science comprises a bundle of measures and practices that aim to make academic findings and data openly accessible, reusable and verifiable. Academic exchange and collaboration should be promoted within the academic community and with other interested parties. In addition, knowledge acquisition and knowledge communication should also be opened up beyond the academic community.

The Open Science November at RUB

RUB's Open Science Policy was published in June 2022. With this policy, the university commits to free access to scientific results and educational materials. Against this background, the first Open Week took place from 29.08. to 02.09.2022, which has now developed into an Open Science November with a variety of events for researchers, teachers and students in order to bundle RUB's activities and offers in the fields of Open Access, Open Data and Open Educational Resources, to make them visible and accessible to all.

This Moodle course is an asynchronous offer for the Open Science event and provides information on the topics of Open Access, Open Data, Open Educational Resources and Public Engagement.
