The learning objective of the course is to gain an understanding of interdisciplinary perspectives on concepts, approaches, methods, and implications of environmental planning in urban contexts. The course will expose students to the state of knowledge of research and practice around environmental planning, with a specific focus on urban ecosystem services, and actively engage them in discussions of current literature and emerging ideas. In addition, through a case study application, students will gain hands-on experience in scenario-based planning for ecosystem servicers, to address specific societal challenges. Furthermore, students will gain experience in reading and understanding scientific journal articles.
