This seminar  aims to provide an overview of psychological approaches to prejudice. We will discuss cognitive underpinnings of prejudice and why some individuals are more prejudiced than others. We will delve into theories of intergroup relations to understand why racism, sexism, and other forms of prejudice and discrimination are so persistent. Finally, we will discuss existing approaches to prejudice reduction and try to come up with alternative ways to battle intergroup conflict and discrimination.
