Open Online Courses
The Open Online Courses (OOC), offered throughout UNIC initially as a reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, are existing courses, fully delivered online, that offer places to students from UNIC partner universities for free. OOC offer students the opportunity to engage in a virtual mobility experience with low entrance barriers, without additional costs or concerns regarding environmental sustainability, and on topics that are of particular interest in addition to or as part of the students’ degree. A structured OOC catalogue is at minimum a starting point for the first experiences in mobility for students and has potential to develop into a model for virtual exchanges.
To fulfil their potential, OOC have been reviewed, and are now developed further into a systematic offer with a dedicated course catalogue. OOC recognition procedures will be further aligned across UNIC, and the OOC will be integrated with the UNIC Hybrid Campus. Furthermore, the relaunch of the OOC will include a range of promotional activities, such as student and teacher testimonials. After a pilot phase with limited OOC offers, the relaunch is planned for September 2025 (M24). The technical integration with the Hybrid Campus has started with some functionality and is planned to be completed for all partners by 2027.
