Can students take part in the 5x5000 competition?
Yes, but only in collaboration with lecturers or as a student jury member.

Can a previous winner take part in the 5x5000 competition again?
Yes, you can enter the competition as many times as you like, regardless of whether you have already won or not.

Who can take part in the competition?
All RUB lecturers and students in collaboration with their lecturers.

Where do I submit the competition form?
The competition form can be submitted in the "Participation" tab until the deadline.

Which appointments do I have to attend as a participant?
As a participant, you do not have to attend any specific appointments. Participation in the competition is realised exclusively via the entry form.

What deadlines have to be met?
The submission deadline is adjusted each round. Information on the current submission deadline can be found under the "Participation" tab.

What formalities must be met in order to take part in the competition?
You must be a RUB lecturer to take part in the competition. You should also note that your project must include e-learning elements in order to be eligible for the competition.

Are there any exclusion criteria for participation in the 5x5000 competition?
Yes, only e-learning-based projects can be funded by the 5x5000 competition.

Does the form have to be submitted by the project's lecturer?
No, the form can also be submitted by other team member.

Can projects without e-learning components also take part in the competition?
No, as the funding is intended to support e-learning-based projects.

When does the project I submit have to be realised?
Ideally, the projects should be carried out in the following two semesters.

Who decides on the winners?
The winners are selected exclusively by the student jury.

Do the winners of the competition receive a certificate?
Yes.

What do the winners of the 5x5000 competition receive?
The winners receive 5,000 euros in funding for the submitted project and a certificate.

Can the funding won be spent on other projects?
No, the funding ist tied to a specific project.

In which period should the funding be used?
Ideally, the projects should be carried out in the following two semesters, therefore, the funding should be used during this period.

 

Student jury:

How do you become a student jury member?
You can apply at any time by sending an email to zfw-5x5000@rub.de.

Does the student jury consist of permanent members?
No. The student jury is selected anew each round.

How is the student jury composed?
The number of student jury members varies from round to round.

Can I become a student jury member and participate in a project submission at the same time?
No. The student jury members may not be involved in a project that is taking part in the current round.

Do students receive a certificate for participating in the jury session?
Yes, a certificate will be issued by the RUBeL team of the ZfW.

Is participation in the student jury meeting compensated?
No.

What dates do I have to attend as a student jury member?
The jury meeting takes place on a single date, which is announced to the jury members in advance.

How do I prepare for the jury meeting as a jury member?
The jury members will receive various documents before the jury meeting (e.g. summaries of the projects), which should be read carefully in order to be able to take part in the discussions at the jury meeting.

How long does the jury meeting last?
The length of the jury meeting varies from round to round. On average, it lasts approximately one afternoon.
