Dear Seminar instructors:

I kindly ask you to let me know about these two questions:

What is the maximum number of credit points we can earn from this course?

Are the oral exam and term paper both necessary or should we choose one or the other? When is the oral exam scheduled?

Dear Zahra,

regarding your first question, concerning the number of credit points, it depends on which is your study program. If you're an EELP student, you can earn 4 credit points just by attending and undertaking a presentation, and if you choose moreover to be examined you can earn 6 credit points. If you're a philosophy student you have to consult the Grünbuch (https://www.ruhr-unibochum.de/philosophy/mam/philosophy/pdf/vvz/kommentiertes_vvz_ws_21- 22.pdf) and the Modulhandbuch for your particular study course (https://www.ruhr-unibochum.de/philosophy/akt_studium.html.de#mod). If you're coming from some other program, you should look at the specific requirements for participating in optional courses, usually under the name Optionalbereich.

Regarding your second question, you can choose either to write a term paper or to undergo an oral exam. The oral exam dates are not decided yet, but will be some time in the first two weeks of February.

I hope I helped you, don't hesitate to return with more questions!

Have a nice day,
Dimitris.
