"The Master exposé is intended as a brief description of the research project you are planning to carry out during your Master thesis project. It is to be written in DFG application style, but covering only sections 1-3 of the official DFG form (see sample forms). Total length should be 10 pages, with at least one third devoted to the work programme (section 2.3 of the form)."
