This seminar prepares students to plan the empirical research project that will form the basis of their bachelor thesis in the Predictive Brain department. During the opening meeting on 19 October, researchers introduce the available projects and students are matched to a project. Students meet their supervisor in the following week. Each student develops a feasible, ethically responsible, and analytically explicit study plan through regular individual or project-cohort supervision.

Most of the semester consists of project-specific supervision and guided work. The opening plenary covers course orientation, project presentations, and project matching; a later common input session covers research ethics, data management, and preregistration. A single whole-group presentation session allows all four students to present their plans and receive feedback. By the end of the seminar, each student should have a supervisor-reviewed preregistration and proposal that can guide the subsequent research semester.
