Bioinorganic Chemistry I: This course covers the biological chemistry of metal ions and their complexes in biological systems. While questions of metal ion occurrence, metal ion homeostasis, and metal ion toxicology are mentioned, a particular focus of this course is on metallo-enzymes, their structure and function, their role in complex biological systems, and methods to study those. The course is intended for Master students of chemistry, biochemistry, and biology, and associated topics. A basic knowledge of chemistry and biochemistry is required.
