  • The CETD (Chinese Electronic Theses and Dissertations Service) collects dissertations and theses of all main Taiwan universities and research institutions but also some from abroad (a full list is shown under 校院瀏覽. The "service" started in 2005 with the aim to collect all dissertations and master theses "from both coasts and all four Chinese regions" (兩岸四地) at one platform. While most of the dissertations are written in Chinese and derive from Taiwanese institutions, the database also provides quite a number written in English. Currently the database allows searches over the titles, abstracts, table of contents, bibliographies, adviser's names etc. of about 114 000 dissertations and theses; about 80 000 of them are accessible as full text PDF (marked in the hits with a text icon). The full text of the PDFs themselves are not searched via the CETD interface, but the PDFs can be searched and printed after download.
