The course Numerical Simulation in Geotechnics and Tunneling teaches advanced soil modeling and practical finite element analysis using PLAXIS. It covers key constitutive models such as the Hardening Soil (HS) model and the High Cyclic Hardening Soil variant, focusing on realistic simulation of soil stiffness, hardening, small-strain behavior, and cyclic loading effects. Participants apply these models to real geotechnical cases, especially tunneling, deep excavations, retaining structures, and underground construction, gaining hands-on experience in predicting deformations, stability, and soil-structure interaction.
