After an introduction to the principles of chemical transformations and laws, that is, types of chemical reactions, speed of the processes, oxidation and reduction reactions, theory of solutions and theory of electrolytic dissociation, the key principles of laser-matter interaction from the viewpoint of chemical reactions will be discussed. Second, the main factors affecting the chemical reactions under the influence of laser radiation will be considered. The laser radiation will be considered as a small chemical microreactor where different processes can be realised according to the type of radiation and the chemical composition of the sample. Further, the key techniques and principles of laser synthesis for controlled design of materials with a range of properties will be studied, including the following: Laser-induced backside wet etching (LIBWE), selective surface activation induced by laser (SSAIL), Laser Induced Chemical Liquid Phase Deposition (LCLD), etc. Based on this knowledge and background, laser-induced techniques will be discussed, including concepts and mechanisms under research or already at the technological point of view.
