This course explores contemporary controversies surrounding post-modern Islam, including discussions on Islamism and terrorism, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, blasphemy and freedom of expression, as well as gender roles and regulations from dressing to sexuality. By introducing and deconstructing conflicting perspectives, the course aims to show how these issues impact global politics, society, and culture.
