In this seminar, we will travel with the plasma from the Sun through interplanetary space towards Earth and the terrestrial magnetosphere. On the way, we will focus on the biggest open problems of space plasma physics and we will learn how to use some of the many tools publicly available for the visualization of spacecraft observations and the simulation of various heliospheric processes. We will pay special attention to the field of space weather, which studies the effects of processes of solar origin on the Earth system and in particular on technological assets, both air-borne and ground-based.
The first meeting will take place on Zoom on Thursday, April 6th, 3pm to decide on the permanent schedule.
