Seminar: Presentation and Discussion
Format: Written Reports and Oral Presentation

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After the seminar, participants are familiar with the recent scientific advances in fuzzing and static analysis for automatic bug finding and vulnerability discovery. Participants can read and critically analyze scientific papers and articles from different perspectives. They can identify the typical paper structure, distinguish claims and evidence, and come up with typical experimental designs to evaluate the main claims in a paper. They can present key ideas in a scientific paper and facilitate a critical discussion about a scientific paper.

SUBJECT
Each week, we will discuss one paper on automatic vulnerability discovery, starting with seminal papers and ending in the most recent advances. Every week in preparation for the seminar, all participants will read the corresponding paper and fill a 1 to 2-page report answering a small number of questions about the paper. We will use the seminar itself for short presentation(s) and a discussion of the paper’s key ideas.
