Superconductivity is a phenomenon that is in the center of current research and still holds many surprises – even more than 100 years after its discovery. Open questions are, for example: Which materials may become superconducting? Why is a material a superconductor? How can we improve superconducting properties for applications? In this seminar we will approach the research field of superconductivity from different perspectives. Besides fundamental properties and applications, theory and experiment, possible topics may also include the history of superconductivity research or the properties of newly discovered superconducting materials.
