Complex manifolds contain many interesting real submanifolds, e.g.
boundaries of domains or fixed point sets of antiholomorphic
involutions. The purpose of the course will be to review basic
techniques from analysis, topology, and differential geometry used to
study the properties of such submanifolds and the effect they have on
the behaviour of holomorphic objects on the ambient complex manifold.
The emphasis will be on examples and open problems.
