In this lecture the a short introcution to the fluid equations will be given. We will also discuss some features of a plasma, which are important in astrophysical enviironmens, like flux tubes, frozem-in magnetic fields,. Then we will concnetrate on the dynamics of hydrodynamic shocks including colliding shocks, and put the most empahsis on the characteristics of MHD shocks.

Some examples of astsophyscial shocks will be discussed like, magnetosphers, interplaneraty shocks, astropheres, etc.
