In this seminar, we will examine Heraclitus’ fragments based on a process philosophy framework. First, we will investigate what sort of monism, if any, fits the Heraclitean view of the cosmos and its ontological implications. Then, we will check if Heraclitus may offer a way out of the Parmenidean/ Platonic critique concerning the impossibility of knowledge about changing entities. Finally, we will examine if Heraclitus’ process framework underlies his ethical fragments.
