The Interdisciplinary Reading Club offers a systematic engagement with the work of researchers central to the field of situated cognition. The Interdisciplinary Reading Club consists of two components. First, there will be presentations by external guests, whose papers we will read and discuss beforehand. Second, participants have the opportunity to present their own work and receive feedback from the group. The Reading Club has an interdisciplinary dimension such that perspectives from philosophy, psychology, epistemology, and neurosciences are interconnected with a focus on the embodiment, enactment, embeddedness, and extendedness of cognitive processes. The aim of the Interdisciplinary Reading Club is to offer a platform for discussion of ongoing research and to support the education of students, especially at a PhD level. Presentations and discussions will be in English. PhD students or postdocs who are interested should write an email to both organizers (albert.newen@rub.de and sabrina.coninx@rub.de ) and come to the first meeting.
