This course will give an introduction in plasma dispersion relations
instabilities. First the relevant plasma parameters are derived. Then
the theory of linear Vlasov waves and its application in magnetized
plasmas is presented. This will be followed by a discussion of MHD
waves. Finally some important instabilities are introduced.

This course is part of a series of courses on fluid dynamics,
astrophysical shocks, and turbulence, but is held ass an independent lecture.
