This course is intended to introduce students to the literature
and popular culture of Yiddish-speaking Jews in Europe, Israel and the
US from the Early Modern to the Contemporary periods. Students will
also be introduced to the Yiddish language, through selected in-class
readings. The class will be taught in English.
