Technische Chemie

Students will gain an insight into the scientific basis of heterogeneous catalysis, with emphasis on the elementary steps of catalytic reactions, the relationships between catalyst structure and reactive properties, between preparation routes and the structures obtained, and the interdisciplinary approaches to catalyst research. You will be introduced to the main characterisation methods for heterogeneous catalysts and given an overview of the main technical applications of heterogeneous catalysis. The course provides students with an orientation in the diverse field of industrial heterogeneous catalysis and a basis for their own scientific activities in catalysis research.
